In my English First Peoples 12 class, I am focusing on the Trickster and the universality of their stories.  I am trying to find the best way for students to reflect on the Trickster archetype. Ted-Ed is a site that I have used before, but not for this specific focus.  I will be focusing on the specific lesson on Anansi.

Perceivable

Students can read the information, listen to and watch the video, and access the site through an immersive reader.  The headings are in a larger font, the lesson tabs being the largest.

Operable

The site can be tabbed through, however, it is not a quick process as you have to go through from the top of the page.  When tabbing through, selected text is boxed with a thick black outline.  Within the ‘lesson’ sections, the current section is red as opposed to black.

Unfortunately, the tab colour for the video is blue and would pose an issue for students unable to see the colour or lack of strong contrast.

Understandable

All Ted-Ed lessons follow the same layout.  The lesson parts do not change location as you go through the lesson

Robust

This webpage is accessible on all devices and its functionality does not change.
