Overarching goal for Technology Integration Activity: uses a variety of digital media (text, images, audio, and movie) to express him/herself
creatively (BC’s Digital Literacy Framework).

Programs: Sway, Flipgrid (a suggestion during a Zoom roundtable)

Sway is a presentation program that allows students flexibility in how they would like to present within the Office 365 Suite.  Flipgrid is a video based digital forum, that exists outside of Office 365 and thus provides more flexibility outside of the district, and provides students with the technology to create videos as a way to demonstrate learning.  There is also an immersive reader option for assignments, which increases accessibility.

Allow students to explore the galleries in Flipgrid and Sways created by past students.

Audio/Video Resources: Flipgrid Tutorial 1, Flipgrid Tutorial 2, Sway Tutorial

All students would be required to watch and work through these tutorials at the beginning of the course.

Documents: Social Justice 12 outline (WordPress) and resources placed on Teams

I like to have the two options for accessibility.

Interactive activities: OneNote or Jamboard (

Both of these programs can be used to bridge the gap between synchronous and asynchronous students and allow them to interact with each other and the course material.

All Office 365 programs are licensed to the school district.  Flipgrid can be tied to school district accounts which provides a safety net.  The only hiccough is JamBoard as a Google account is needed to generate the boards.  In theory Office 365 is accessible to all students, but that remains true only so long as they are within a school district that uses it.  I have strived to find alternatives that could allow for students to take their work, and access to it, with them when they graduate.
