One of my educational technology strengths is my willingness to dive in head first.  Within education, I am willing to try any new technique or strategy at least once, or more if needed.  Another strength is my desire to explore, play around and truly understand technology before I use it with students.  I want to do my best to help make the technology exciting and useful to students.   An example of this is myBlueprint for CLC 12.  I went through the pages and quizzes by myself before introducing it to students.  This helped me predict some of the possible difficulties that could arise when students began using the program.

I do not feel that I have any particular technology expertise, aside from some basic coding.  I will often muddle through programs and websites in the hopes of figuring out or finding what I need.

The challenges that I foresee are being overwhelmed with too much technology at once or not being able to find suitable support for my or student’s learning, alongside the expectations of mastering a new technology.

One of the main resources that I have and will continue to use is that of the computer teacher at the secondary school I work at, who is well versed in the Office 365 suite, which is the program of choice for my district.  I especially like OneDrive, TEAMS and Sway.

Peter Liljedahl’s website, especially as I am attending his Thinking Classroom Pro-Ds.

Jamboard and Knowledgefeed (part of Google Docs) to allow for synchronous interaction.

Prezi is a nice change from Sway or PowerPoint and allows for access through the web rather than a file.

WordPress my preferred website hosting site.
