I was able to take part in the Tweet chat of #bcedchat on October 17th.  I hoped it would be of benefit to me as a BC teacher and provide me with insights and connections.  The structure was like nothing I had experienced before outside of online gaming.  A question was asked and participants answered as they were able, with the questions remaining visible so latecomers could also contribute.  It is less like a traditional chat in that the responses are akin to separate posts rather than a stream of comments.

This aspect took some getting used to, as I am also new to Twitter, and I had to remember to refresh the list.  #bcedchat leaves their Sunday night discussions questions up on their main page, so anyone can participate throughout the week.  Having been involved in online gaming in my youth, I enjoyed the rapid pace of the questions, which provided me time to read and respond to others once I had given my answer.  I found the overall experience to be one that I hope to repeat.

Being that there are synchronous and asynchronous options allows there to be continual contributions and discussions around the questions.  Being that my community and schools are quite isolated, it is heartening to hear that some of my experiences are not unique to my locale.  It was also wonderful to hear different perspectives on the topics.
